From AI Filters to Video Shopping: The Exciting New Instagram Features 2023

Do you know what Instagram is? Of course, you do! This social media platform is filled with memes, arts, and beauty. Being the social media platform focused on images, Instagram is somewhat famous for being the home of celebrities and memesters. The reason for this popularity is straightforward; You cannot download Instagram posts without using third-party software. Even if you do this, there is always a high risk of your account getting banned. Instagram is constantly evolving and updating its features to make the app more engaging and user-friendly for its users. With the new year comes new Instagram features that are sure to make waves in the social media world. In this article, we will dive into the exciting new Instagram features 2023, including AI filters, video shopping, and more.

Who knows, you might even be a creator. If you are a creator, you must know about some of the recent updates on this social media platform.

AI Filters – New Instagram Features 2023

One of the most exciting new Instagram features 2023 is the implementation of AI filters. These filters are designed to enhance your photos and videos by automatically adjusting the brightness, contrast, and saturation levels to create the perfect image. The AI filters also recognize faces and can apply makeup or remove blemishes in real-time. With these new filters, Instagram users can take their photos and videos to the next level without having to spend time editing them manually.

Video Shopping

Another exciting new Instagram features 2023 is video shopping. This feature allows businesses to showcase their products in videos and tag the products for purchase. Users can simply tap on the product in the video to see more information and purchase it directly from the app. This feature is a game-changer for businesses looking to increase their sales and reach a wider audience.

AR Try-On

In addition to AI filters, Instagram has also introduced AR Try-On, which allows users to try on virtual clothes and accessories before purchasing them. This feature uses augmented reality technology to create a virtual fitting room, allowing users to see how a piece of clothing or accessory will look on them before making a purchase. This feature is not only useful for consumers but also for businesses, as it reduces the number of returns due to incorrect sizing or fit.

New Stickers and GIFs

Instagram is also introducing new stickers and GIFs in 2023 to make Instagram stories even more engaging and fun. These stickers and GIFs include new reactions, emojis, and animations that users can use to express themselves in their stories. These features make Instagram stories more interactive and enjoyable for users.

From AI filters to video shopping, these features are sure to make a splash in the social media world. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out these new features and take your Instagram game to the next level.

Instagram never stops to surprise us. Here are the major updates from the Instagram Land you need to know from past years!

1. Video Reply on Reels

Instagram reels is a wonderful section of this social media platform that lets you post videos on your profile. This concept is like TikTok, where you are limited to 15 to 50 seconds of video with similar features.

Similar to TikTok, you can do voiceover, lip-sing, or post your original videos. However, this is just the core of Instagram Reels. With the recent Instagram updates for 2022, you can now comment on these videos with your video.

Why is this an important update? Well, simply because this opens up a whole new way to interact between the creator and commentator and opens up new possibilities to build and expand your connection.

2. Upgrades to Instagram Profile Embedding

The ability to embed Instagram profiles on websites is not a new feature. However, this was somewhat limited in the past. Back in the past, you could only embed links to your profile, and the user would have to jump to Instagram to view the profile.

Of course, this was limited to public profiles. However, as of 2022, you can view a miniature version of your profile on the embedded Instagram link. This works somewhat like a preview of the profile and contains the number of posts and generic view of your latest ones, number of followers, and following.

Along with embedding your profile preview, you can add in 6 of your most recent images on the website. The sad news is that this feature is available only for the citizens of the USA; however, it will be accessible to global users in due time.

How to embed an Instagram profile on the web?

  • Step 1: Go to the profile.
  • Step 2: Click on Gear Icon

OR

  • Click on the three dots
  • Step 3: Click on embed and Copy the embed code
  • Step 4: Paste the code to the website display window.

3. Text to Speech on the Reels

Text to Speech on the Reels

Let’s be honest here, Instagram is all about showing your creativity and beauty. This includes beauty with art, images, and texts. Although you can do the same with the reels, there are limitations. However, with new Instagram features 2023, you have a bit more space for creativity.

Text to speech is not a new concept. It has been on the internet for a long time. However, by integrating this existing feature into the Instagram reels, the creators get one more tool to show off their skills in video creation.

Since this is a relatively new feature, many people don’t know how to use this. If you want to use this, you will need to:

  • Step 1: Record the video and add it to the reels
  • Step 2: Tap on the text icon and add in your desired text
  • Step 3: Touch on the matching text at the bottom left of your screen
  • Step 4: Tap on the three dots next to the next and touch on Text to Speech
  • Step 5: Select your desired AI voice “Voice 1” Or “Voice 2”

The process is relatively simple. However, because this Instagram update is relatively new, you only have two options for voice. Hopefully, in the future, we will get more customization freedom with this text-to-speech feature of Instagram.

4. Live Badges for creators

new instagram updates 2023

Going Live on Instagram is not a new feature; however, until now, this was just for interaction with your followers and increasing their engagements. There was no monetary value of going live on Instagram.

However, you can get some monetary value with the new Instagram features 2023. Although you need to be above 18 years and have above 10,000 followers, you can now earn money from going live on Instagram. For any medium-sized organization or averagely popular influencer/ celebrity, 10K follower is not a big hurdle.

In this new update, the viewers can purchase the badges and send a gift to their organization/ celebrity who is going live. The badge price is:

  • $0.99 for one heart
  • $1.99 for two heart
  • $4.99 for three hearts

As you gift these badges, your user handle along with your message will be highlighted on the screen. This is similar to twitch subs or stickers on TikTok.

The only sad news is that this feature is only available for creators from the USA so far. However, we can expect this feature to be available globally soon.

5. Chronological Algorithm

new instagram updates 2023

Don’t get us wrong; the chronological algorithm is nothing new to Instagram. The only issue is that Instagram had disagreed with this algorithm for a few years. Because of this, many creators and users have been dissatisfied with the way Instagram news feed worked for quite a while.

Because of the high demand to bring back the chronological algorithm of Instagram, it was included in new Instagram features 2023. Now, you will see the posts based on when they were posted. The posts on your Instagram feed will be sorted out based on their upload date, with the top ones being the most recent.

This will give the organizations and celebrities to get more engagement if they know the prime time of their viewership and the users to get the content from their favorite creator at their peak hour of activity.

6. Introducing Better Previews of Your Content

It makes it easier for you to grow your audience and get discovered by better previewing your content outside Instagram in more places. Image previews will now appear in your Tweet when sharing Instagram posts from public accounts to Twitter. This highlights your content and shows people what they’ll see when they click your link. Our goal is to create a better experience for people who want to see a preview of Instagram content while scrolling on Twitter.

The subscriptions will be priced at $0.99 per month, however, this is not the final price.

In India, the App Store listing for Instagram shows Rs 89 monthly charges for “Instagram Subscriptions”, which as first spotted by Techcrunch, wasn’t there before. Earlier, the App Store listing for Instagram only included badges as in-app purchases starting at Rs 89 to Rs 449.

9. Instagram link previews on Twitter

The feature is expected to be similar to Twitter Blue, meaning followers of influencers and creators will get access to exclusive content by getting subscriptions.
